Beginning September 1, 2026, Sport Mazda North in Longwood stopped charging a dealer documentation fee and a pre-delivery service charge. Together those two lines added $1,440 to a deal. Both are now $0, on new Mazda vehicles and on pre-owned inventory alike.
We have kept one dealer charge, a $395 electronic registration and filing fee, and we have put it on this page rather than leaving you to discover it in the finance office. A change like this is only worth making if the disclosure is as visible as the headline.
Shoppers in Seminole County do their homework. They arrive having read the listing, compared it against three other stores, and calculated what they expect to sign for. What wrecks that calculation is the block of dealer fees at the end, sized differently at every dealership and explained at none of them.
So we removed the two largest ones. The pre-delivery inspection still happens; the title work still gets done. We simply concluded that folding those costs into how we price vehicles is more defensible than presenting them as separate charges at the point when a customer has the least room to react.
There is no enrollment, no promotional window and no minimum spend. If you buy from us in Longwood on or after September 1, the two fees are not part of the transaction.

A $395 electronic registration and filing fee remains. Florida operates an Electronic Filing System through which authorized dealers process title and registration transactions directly, which is the reason you can leave with your tag handled instead of scheduling a trip to the tax collector. This charge covers that processing.
It is a dealer charge. Florida’s administrative rules require a fee of this kind to be disclosed separately and specifically prohibit presenting it as a state or government fee, and we would name it that way regardless. It is our charge, and we are accountable for it.
Separately, sales tax and the government charges for tag, title and registration still apply. Those are set by the state of Florida and by Seminole County. No dealership has the authority to waive them, and any dealership implying otherwise is telling you something untrue.
Florida is an outlier. A number of states cap documentation fees by statute, among them California, Oregon, Arkansas and West Virginia. Florida sets no ceiling at all. Left unconstrained, the figure has climbed: Edmunds puts Florida’s median documentation fee at roughly $899, tied with Virginia for the highest in the nation.1
Our documentation fee is $0 against that median. We would rather compete on how we treat you and on the Mazda in the listing. Nobody has ever chosen a vehicle because of a documentation fee. It arrived at the close, as the last obstacle in front of a decision a customer had already reached.
